Ayurveda:
Breaking the Rules Without Breaking the Principles

A Clinical Approach to Lifestyle Medicine

Before we start, I would like you to ask yourself a question: Why are you here? What drives you to gain an understanding of Ayurveda in the first place? Your reasons for diving into the world of Ayurveda are as unique as the subject of this question: You.

And yet, too many of us forget to consider ourselves when seeking out health and wellness. We seek external solutions and wonder why we can’t seem to achieve the results we want. Ayurveda — a 5,000-year-old science — is a way to get the body, mind, and spirit back to balance, and the key to healing comes from knowing ourselves.

Knowing yourself is the key to healing. Integrated medicine is the key to the future.

Ayurveda offers a holistic, lifestyle-centered approach to medicine. But the rules and routines were not intended to create a single path for all. Discovering an individual practice of Ayurveda is a journey of self-knowledge, during which the path to healing reveals itself.

However, ultimate well-being requires integrated medicine: Joining modern Western medicine with the holistic lifestyle science of Ayurveda. My goal is to build a bridge between separate worlds of medicine. I believe that together they are exponentially more powerful than the sum of their parts. As an author, practitioner, and speaker, I aim to equip doctors, practitioners, and patients with the tools to approach healing as the holistic, individualized path that it is.

AMITA S. NATHWANI, M.A. (Ayur)

I am dedicated to health care that does more than just fix a problem. Through my integrative approach to medicine I aim to harmonize the body, mind and spirit. Addressing the problem while identifying the root cause, and embracing the pursuit of self-knowledge.

I bring a fresh perspective to medicine. I believe in the power of 5,000 year old Ayurvedic practices to meet individual needs, and I believe in the power of modern diagnostic tools and technology. Integrating two worlds of medicine so that people may be equipped to find their individual path to health & happiness.
